Could Have Been My Girl
She could have been my girl
But it's not meant to be, no she's gone from this world
Taken by surprise
Taken right before my very eyes
We used to sing the same songs playing on the radio
But it's not meant to be oh no
She could have been my girl
They could have been the best of friends
But it's not meant to be oh no that's not how the story ends
They met at the door
Now they won't be meeting anyone any more
They used to listen to the same songs playing on the radio
But that's not how it ends
They could have been the best of friends
What is it with this crazy crazy world
That takes the lives of two such beautiful girls
Now there's two fathers crying and too many dying
It just keeps coming on and why aren't we trying
What is it with this crazy world
She could have been my girl
Which one it doesn't really matter they're both gone from this world
Taken by surprise, taken right before our very eyes
I'm just sitting listening to the old songs playing on the radio
Wondering why did she go
She could have been my girl
How Two Lives Met in Death

Special report: Suicide bombings have driven the conflict in the Mideast to new and dangerous levels. This is the story of two teens whose paths tragically intersected: an innocent Israeli and the Palestinian girl who became a walking weapon of terror.
It was a typical Friday afternoon in the Kiryat Hayovel neighborhood of southern Jerusalem. At the Supersol market, the Sabbath rush was underway.; shoppers pushed their carts past shelves stripped bare of bread and matzos for the weeklong Passover holiday....
...A split second later, a powerful explosion tore through the supermarket, gutting the shelves and sending bodies flying. When the smoke cleared and the screaming stopped, the two teenage girls and the guard lay dead, three more victims of the madness of martyrdom.
